Patrik Oláh was born in Salgótarján in 1998, where he began his violin studies. According to him, his style is eclectic, the basis of his works is the use of the components of authentic gypsy music, but there are also traces of spectralism and serialism in his music. The Junior Prima Awards are supported by the MVM Group.
The young artist is credited with writing the first mass in the history of music in Lovary, entitled: Le Devleske (To God). The presentation of the work was held in the Basilica of St. István in Budapest, and then it debuted within a liturgical framework at the 52nd International Eucharistic Congress with the main celebrant of Archbishop Alfredo José Espinoza Mateus of Quito.
Winner of several national and international competitions: in 2011, he received the Gold Cum Laude award at the National Ferenc Liszt Arts Competition. In 2018, Meine Qual won 1st prize at the Beethoven Composer Competition in Buda. with his composition. This year, he is a finalist of the Bartók World Competition and 2nd place of the Szokolay InspirArt Composer Competition.
In 2019, he received the 1st prize at the Music Academy competition, the Generace in Ostrava, and the Special Prize at the 2022 Ise-Shima International Composer Competition in Japan.
On the Main Stage of the 2019 Sziget Festival, he was able to perform one of his violin compositions in front of an audience of 70,000 people with the participation of American dancer Drew Dollaz. In 2021, the Academy of Music awarded his creative work with the Andor Neszlényi Award, and he is also supported by the New National Excellence Program.
He obtained his master’s degree with honors at the Academy of Music in 2022, and was then admitted to the Doctoral School of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. Since September, he has been teaching at the university’s composition department in the position of departmental demonstrator.
